Trail Description

The Steven's Creek Trail is an incredible kid-friendly greenway and I’m surprised it isn’t busy all the time. Starting at the southernmost point (near the intersection of Heatherstone Way and Runningwood Circle in Mountain View) you can bike 6 uninterrupted miles all the way to the Bay Trail at Shoreline Park. The trail has a good amount of shade, flowers, gorgeous trees and kids will love the underpasses and overpasses. If you have train-lovers in your family the absolute best part is the bridge over the train tracks near Mountain View Station at Evelyn Avenue. Sit here for a while and you can watch the CalTrain and the VTA light rail pass under you. Keep biking for a beautiful view of the bay – or you can hop off the Steven’s Creek trail and head into downtown Mountain view for a coffee (or the farmer’s market). On the way back to the southern point of the trail, enjoy the satisfaction you get as you travel faster than the cars stopped on nearby Hwy85.
